Sports
Throughout my life, I've always played sports. Before I was 3 years old, I was playing soccer and learning to ski, and ever since, sports have been a huge part of my life. Over the years I've played a number of sports competitively including soccer, cross country, track, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, baseball, and basketball. I've played even more sports recreationally including volleyball, climbing, skiing, and more. Sports have had an incredibly positive impact on my life encouraging me to compete at the highest level possible and never give up.
Frisbee:
In the last two years, I have found a sport that I truly enjoy. I enjoy both the mental and physical challenges that Frisbee presents: nothing quite beats diving recklessly for a falling Frisbee. You can always push yourself to become a better player. Playing with my peers is a fun and rewarding experience that makes the sport even better.
Running:
Between 7 seasons of cross country and 5 seasons of track, totaling thousands of miles, running has become a lifelong passion. While running, I've been a part of amazing teams, bringing me some of my closest friends. Through running, I've gained an incredible understanding of the value of teamwork and mental toughness unrivaled in my other activities.
Climbing:
I picked up climbing during my senior year of high school, and while I've been plagued by injuries, I've never quit. Climbing is an incredible test of strength and coordination, allowing me to identify my strengths and weaknesses and see how and where I can improve. I hope to continue improving my climbing abilities over the next few years.
Miscellaneous:
Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. In addition to the three sports I've described in detail, I've also played lacrosse, baseball, and basketball competitively. However, even outside organized sports, athletics permeate my life. I always enjoy picking up a new skill, or trying out new activities. I've spent hours learning a new trick on a trampoline, or trying to balance in unstable places.
